The Birth of a Sandwich
In 1967, owner Jim Delligatti of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania wanted a sandwich that was bigger and better. He started stacking buns and burgers to create one of McDonald's most successful products. The monster sandwich at 45 cents was a huge hit among customers!
A "Happy" Addition
The Happy Meal was introduced in the year of 1979 to target kids. Kids chose their burger Meal and toy. It later changed in 1983 when the Chicken McNuggets were introduced. McNuggets were a "happy" alternative.
Fish Ahoy!
Filet-O-Fish Sandwich was introduced by franchisee Lou Groeno in 1964. This product catered to non-meat consumers.
